Finding Inner Peace: Embracing Spiritual Joy During the Holidays

We are approaching a joyous holiday as Christmas after we are attempting to be thankful at Thanksgiving. 

Christmas became a misery for many who feel under pressure to rack their brains to find the gifts that are meaningful for their loved ones and friends, to decorate their homes with the hope that this will remind them of joy to prepare food that will be enjoyed and not wasted. Dreading the upcoming encounters with the ones that we don’t see eye to eye with the hope that joyful gathering will not become a disastrous one that will create even wider distance. 

What if we stop treating Christmas at surface level to put down the potential fires in an attempt to satisfy everyone else?

What if we start remembering more on what the true meaning of Christmas is?

What if we allow true joy to lead us to experience the most magical and blessed holiday of our lives and beyond?

I grew up in an environment where it was more important to satisfy everyone else because my own satisfaction was selfish. That constant self-sacrifice to make sure others are happy was so charged, especially when I saw that these recipients were rarely satisfied and not grateful for the efforts of that self sacrifice and no matter what they always had something to complain about. 

Many times I was raising the question of what is the point of all of it? However, I was many times silenced and demanded to accept the status quo of tradition and religious teaching of being of complete service to others without consideration of my own needs. 

Over years and even some rebellious acts of stepping out of that common belief with hope to open the possibility for others to see this nonsense was treated with even a bigger misunderstanding and blame of me being a black ship of family.

I learned how to keep my visionary thoughts and perspectives to myself and not rocking a boat. Because I determined it is not worth my inner peace to end up in an argument with ones who are so stuck in their ways they cannot see beyond their nose. 

However, I did not give up to find my love that I felt I was missing in my life to feel fulfilled. 

It took me many years to realize why my hubby’s name is Chris. I  had a Christmas wish at 17 to have a boyfriend and at New Year’s Eve the sparkle lid between us. After a few years of courtship and long distance relationship he followed me to the USA and we got married young. Somehow we are still together after 28 years as a married couple.

The bigger gift of unconditional love came in our lovely daughter, Viki. It took a long time for me to come to that realization that she is my patient teacher of loving without conditions. 

I am beyond grateful for her and for that meaningful and deep unfolding that led me to return back to me to experience that homy feeling of true love, joy, peace and light deep within, so I can share it with my daughter, my hubby, my family, my friends and my clients.

It is not easy to unlearn something that was so deeply ingrained in you from your upbringing and environments that you were and are part of. 

When you are ready to open your mind and heart, many times when you get hit so hard with some crazy circumstance, you will finally allow true joy to enter your life and you want to experience more of it when you realize how magical and blessed you are and your life. All of a sudden your Christmas has a deeper meaning and is beyond just one day in a year.

Possibly you found your true joy that is very meaningful for you and you have a feeling that you can expand it so much more to be of true service to others. Remember who you are and how important you are  to make a true difference. You always wanted to be remembered as someone who cared for others by becoming a role model of true love and joy and who had a deep desire and grand vision to make this world a better place. 

I strongly believe that it is the perfect  time to come together in comm-unity to build and to strengthen our  imm-unity against our life distractions and finally bring our grand vision fully to life as the visionary women. We get to awaken to our true potential now and to live our legacy daily.
